We were commissioned by Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to design and build a set of indoor art installations in its Terminal 2. The installation "Flying Time"  is inspired by our perception of time before and after taking an airplane. Time, in physics, passes quietly at a constant speed with absolute precision. However, when people are waiting in terminal, one may feel time passes slower than outside. This calmed the anxious mood of the tourists and created a unique atmosphere. Every moment appears to us more clearly.

The installation demostrate this feeling abstractly. We represent time as a tubular continuum. However, when time is slowed down, the continuum is sliced into many pieces. Each piece is a moment, and each section of those moments  is represented as a clock, showing different times.
